#74…Cowboy Boots are the NEW High Heels. A Geriatric, Excuse Me, RARE find………

A new phase of my life, the computer screen goes to sleep while I’m gathering my thoughts.  Ah……the slowdown of, ok, you name it. This is not necessarily a bad thing. So I have these beautiful blue cowboy boots made of stiff, tough bull hide that were claustrophobic to me but I thought I looked hot in them, After 32 years I tossed them in the DAV pile and swore off boots forever. Then a GRANDDAUGHTER was getting married and I bought a white pair at the Rusty Chandelier Flea Market for a very LOW price of $26, (still haven’t gotten over the mega bucks on the blue pair) matched them to a white tea length skirt, white top and after putting up with #_  giving me grief that only the bride wears white, I wore a sleeveless destroyed blue denim vest. Gotta look hot when wearing boots, which boots have never been my thing. I sold them immediately after the gala at a $5 loss, so all is well, a small price for blisters.

My girlfriend Diane, who is snowbirding in Texas, not to be confused with my other friend Diane who has not deserted me here in St. Joe, went antique mall shopping with me in Branson. There they were……these wonderful cream colored SOFT leather boots for $8.50( unlike the 2nd mortgage boots I’ll never get over, which were like new when I tossed them). If nothing else they would be wonderful closet décor! I wore them last month to a club luncheon wearing sox and they were wonderful as long as I sat…..but I did look hot….purse matching of course….and jacket….

So last night is the big New Year’s Eve Party at the Eagle’s Lodge. What to wear? My boots! ! ! ! Only this time I wore knee-hi hose. I’m in love! My feet performed soooooooooooooooooooo well and I was soooooo surefooted dancing, like I haven’t been forever. A new discovery, a new phase of my life. And I was worried that I would be too short to dance with Russ after what we were used to, but methinks he wore his shrink wrap clothes because I never noticed a difference.
