#79……Swapaholic, Shopaholic……Shazam ! ! !

4 AM is a good time to take pics and post on St Joseph Swapaholic. Amazingly, it is surprising how many people are  awake and posting or shopping! But I had to get around early to leave for a one hour drive to Kansas City to my daughter Connie, #1, and partake in a cup of java AND go through every room in her home to check out décor, color and of course, the most important detail….is everything in good balance, flowing and coordinating, is a picture off-set, and what do we need to find today and what needs to go, and what am I confiscating because it would look better in MY home?!

Off to our #1 favorite Red Rock Antique Mall in Gladstone. My 1st “TREASURE” hunt since 1st Nov. What fortune, everything a “TREASURE” !  Been wanting to adopt a well trained easy maintenance cat and here he is! Another cheese box, absolutely gorgeous after applying a strip of matching blue paint…OK, nothing like a bed spring to use for one stemmed flower décor with a wisp of baling twine. Probably the #1 would be the heavy barb wire Saguaro Cactus to remind me of Candi and John in Apache Junction, AZ….what a super special family!

The Christmas wreath is spectacular! I love straight lines and this comes perfect! Not too cluttered, HUGE. THAT is the problem. Where on earth am I going to store this? How will I wrap this for dust control? What was I thunking? (This is my blog, I can spell words my way….)

The real “TREASURE” is the tall industrial re-purposed blue oil lamp #1 gave me. THAT makes my pitter patter race…. Now I have problems. Russ saw it and stole the antique glass shade for one of his lamps…..then we had to go buy 2 LED lights. Well then it takes a special shade to encompass the bulbs being so wide at the top, which I did NOT find….and when I went to pull on the chains, one side has a short and it is painted THAT shade of blue……so it sits stripped butt-naked in the dining room, a perfect color……AND a perfect storm a comin’, where is that man hiding?

I will count my blessings.
