I am minding my own business. Ah, yes, I will check out the antique mall in Mesa…always looking for Christmas gifts. Ok, so it’s January. But to know me, is to know that all my Christmas is wrapped by the 1st of Sept….ribbons and tags. List complete! So I come across these $153 lockers and all of the sudden I can’t hardly breathe! I have to have these, this moment…I cannot live w/o them. Cell phone in hand…RUSS! BRING THE TRUCK…..please. Alright, they are now in the garage…The guest bedroom will be the perfect spot and I will leave them unpainted and rusty…for my scarves, gloves, purses and shoes.
A trip to Pensacola Fla. unearths the $26 yellow wicker and metal basket. Instant love affair. Where to put this treasure in my house? In the car of course, this hummer is going home. What to do with it, though???
OMG!……$1 hammered tin wall decor with ceramic tile that I HAVE to HAVE. Does it match any room in my house? NOT! What to do? I can change the tile…don’t know yet….
The bedroom in no way can accommodate the lockers of that color. Alright I’ll paint the walls white….a white bedspread…everything has to come off the walls…I know! I have two HUGE antiqued and roughed up shabby chic picture frames and I’ll put all the pictures somehow in them….I’m thinking…YES! The $1 find will be my color palette. I bought a blue and white printed pair of curtains, white paint, matched the orange with spray paint for the chest……..I’ll find some throw pillows in a light blue, etc.,etc, etc,
It’s all about the HUNT! Finding a treasure, an unlikely accessory….a silly color palette…and building on an idea. I have created every room in my home by finding that one unique piece…let the ideas flow because now I have something to work with. Finished room pics coming within the month!
Oh! I found this wonderful $28 cheese box in Chandler Merchandize Mart for an accessory! How perfect! ! !
