God has so many surprises for us! Who would have thunk the older I get, the more new roads open up before me and then in the middle of Mom in law going into hospice….Merry Christmas happens!
I was born into an unwanting family to two young people who could not work things out. My life was one crisis after another, mainly caused by my own wrong decisions, for lack of knowledge, wisdom and no advice from family because I didn’t have any. My story is one of just stumbling through life and living through the consequences. Then I met the Lord and started reading my Bible, started going to church and began learning His “truth”. It’s a good thing, because I needed to learn how to unravel the brokeness of my life.
So I got the children raised, divorced after 33 years and now wholly dependent on my own earnings with older age grabbing at me. And my God saw me through it. I worked full time, went to school nights to learn how to turn on TURN ON a computer. Had 3 booths in an Antique Mall for several years, studied home design and staged several homes for my friends. In the meantime, I purchased some books, learned how to blog, not for $$ but for personal satisfaction. I always wanted to be a writer, but because I am eclectic….or is it dyslectic, BOTH, it is easier to hold my attention to a short story and take it to completion….well not quite, there’s always more to the story when you see those……
#1daughterconnie called one day and said she just got an Ancestry account and would I help her with family names….. AND gave me access with her password. Then Mike messaged that he might be related to her……….then brother Tim “took over”…his words exactly.
That was 3 years ago. Those 2 men were the sons of my 1st cousin Sue who has a sister, Shirley. I have no family on my mother’s side, they are in Poland and now I have 2 whole families on my late father’s side in Schenectady New York ! ! ! ! All 3 of us girls AND #1daughterconnie AND her daughter Lauren, are all new DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION! ! ! All these years Shirley and Sue were saddened as they had no family and now God has restored us and we are making GREAT plans to get together. They have been forced me to learn how to facetime…and the beat goes on.
Russ’s Mom is now in hospice. the out of state families have gathered, more will be on the way. In the mean time 2 packages arrived and New York has told me I may not open them till they facetime me, which I did. Forgive me for not taking a picture of the beautiful engraved wood box made in England…I already put it in a special place and forgot to include in the pictures. It was an overwhelming moment, that someone though so much of me….not too long ago, strangers to me, to send all these beautiful items with wonderful things of love written to me…It was only later when I opened the flag to discover it was a Betsy Ross colonial 13 striped flag…I have no words. It is our Patriot, Thomas Wells that binds us together with love!
Is this the end? Oh no, now I am chair of the WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA for our St. Joseph Chapter NSDAR, and deep into doing genealogies for people. I wonder what career path will come for me next year?
