I did it. I dropped the “F” bomb! For that I am very sorry. There is no excuse. The best justification I can present is that I was so excited about the Saturday Army Parade which was absolutely the best! And the narration we could hear was the magic! Russ and I are both from Military families. He is a Son of the American Revolution and I am a Daughter of the American Revolution. His father, William R, is one of St. Joseph’s finest, always over the years interviewed on Channel 2 and front page articles in the News-Press. His plane was shot down in the Pacific and spent 17 days afloat in a life raft. My grandfather, top military official in Poland with Virtuti, arrested and shot in front of a firing squad. Even my mother was a decorated soldier in the Warsaw Uprising. My father met her at a USO dance, while stationed in Frankfurt Germany. So military runs deep in our veins. We are very involved in History. Russ is in the Color Guard with his SAR Chapter. I’m saying all this to tell you how much our life is involved in everything historic…So we sat down to watch our President’s wonderful parade. The narrator was superb for the short while they allowed us to watch! And the Revolutionary uniforms were EXACTLY as Russ dresses for grave dedications and parades…Fox News is the only political station I ever watch…so there we were. Color me dumb but I did not know of other stations or u-tube. we did switch over to Cspan the last 5 minutes. Those 2 people on Fox would not SHUT UP!!! we couldn’t make out what the narrator was saying about each progression of the next war…FOX NEWS RUINED THE PARADE for us and I dropped the “F” bomb. I’m ashamed of myself for what I said, I asked God to forgive me the next morning in church…
I have been in an uproar lately with everything changing. All things my generation has known to be a way of life IS GONE! Decency is gone. The adults today in their 30’s and 40’s have no respect…why should they? Their parents were not taught respect by THEIR parents. So 3 generations back, abortions were the “new” thing, prayer was taken out of school and parents were told to “time out” their kids. When I got in trouble in school, oh my God! My rear end was beat at home. I learned respect.
Talk about a parade being RUINED and that is for at least the last 20 years the Macy’s Christmas Parade, a disgrace! It should be renamed, “LET’S SHOW THE WORLD HOW AWESOME TO BE A MOVIE STAR IS!” Those kids in high school bands have to earn the right to be the band representing their state. They have to earn tremendous amounts of $$$ to buy new uniforms, pay for food and hotel rooms AND transportation. You can hear them coming toward the bandstand where the cameras are, but we have to listen to some movie star talking about how important they are…I want to see those kids. I want to see the horses and riders. I want to see our hardworking American people put on the show from their respective states. Each state has their own flavor and we love that diversity.
Well, Fox won’t be turned on ever again in this house. It is my fault I said what I said. I’m chilling on politics. It is what it is and I’m not the problem solver. Thank you Lord, that you have forgiven me. I’m going outside to pull weeds.
