Each of these tables I bought at a garage sale for $1 and then painted. The big one sold for $57, the smaller…..$46
Yellow birdcage paid $25 and sold it for $46 AFTER I whitewashed it white.
I have my problems…….as do my granddaughters, Lauren…..and BL. We all love color, we like to glow in the dark, be it our hair, our clothing or our surroundings. It works well for us…people sometimes gasp at us at first glance. BL leads the pack with her LONG pink hair…..Lauren is so chic sometimes with one side of her “do” longer and covering one eye……sensuously…. I started at 17 in time for senior pictures at #DHS, #DuarteHighSchool, #DuarteCalifornia when I dyed my blonde hair ….BLACK. My English teacher, Mrs. Sears, wrote in my yearbook “I will always remember the day you stood in front of me and your hair was green!” And so…..my senior picture…. Thank God we did NOT YET have color pictures. Can you believe that?..tells my age. That started the #trending in my life called DISCOLORIZATION AT ANY COST SYNDRONE. I am proud to say, I have excelled ! ! !
So I LOVE color. I have had to learn the hard way that living here in the Midwest, people tend to be #conservative. Yes I’ve sold my painted furniture after some time, probably when a California or New York person has shopped in our mall, but I do better when I shabby chic a white or grey. It’s like staging a house to sell…to attract MOST of the people, you have to use a neutral pallet. For me in my house, anything goes. Now I am heavy into industrial. That will be future posts.
Be that as it may, I cannot deny myself. Though I live in the Midwest, I still paint my dining room walls purple and other walls navy blue. But it is a #newyear 2018, and I’m off to #Lowe’s to buy fresh paint brushes! ! At this moment white is calling me!
