#18…JUNK, It’s all #junk!

What can be better then a piece of metal and a can of spray paint? Alright, already…..a wooden something and a gallon of #paint! Todays pictures are of #treasures. I don’t know which I love best, but I am crazy about anything yellow. I get in so much trouble just because I LOVE yellow! This lovely wicker and metal chest daughter Connie (#1)and I found in Pensacola Florida at a delightful #fleamarket. Another of those moments when the pitter patter races and life stops BECAUSE I can’t live another moment w/o it! I did walk away for a while because I couldn’t figure out how on earth we could fit that into the car when we were just in the early days of our cross country trip to visit daughter Billie Girl (2 too) and buying everything in sight. BUT….it was #yellow and only $29….priceless…..

Aha! Trying to change out our dining room chandelier and full of ideas from #hgtv and a scrapbook of torn out pics from all my magazines, we had been shopping #lowes and #menards and nothing had quite clicked yet. Even though husband, 6 year old who shaves, is so handy to do the replacement himself, methinks of it as a more permanent fixture for now, so have to do heavier thinking. The new ones were running around $200 and were more spindly, at least the ones I was drawn to…BUT THIS ONE was heavy, very heavy and had the #candlelights I wanted AND was BIG! Did I mention I paid $45 for it and hubby (6 year old who shaves) carried it out of the antique mall with a smile on his face! Thinking a copper penny #spraypaint……..hammered of course!

Connie (#1) has lived in our area of #missouri most of her life and had never been to this particular #antiquemall in Liberty. I could not believe that as she was only a handful of miles from it. That ole gal ain’t getting any younger either so we planned a special day to shop all the thrift stores…etc, etc, etc….(taught from The King and I) I drive the one hour to get to her…we go here, we go there and it’s time for lunch…did I mention the margaritas? We know it’s 5 o’clock somewhere out in the #atlanticocean and who are we to break tradition? A good song in #fiddlerontheroof  And then…we go to THE MALL. Anticipation is high, #1 can’t wait……..drum roll here…….but 1st she wants to use the restroom and goes UP the stairs…..so I was forced to shop by myself while she sat in a chair, ankle up, and ice. And there was the lovely #sewingmachinetable cast iron bottom with beveled glass top for $26. For 6 year old of course….a gift.

Have you ever been to the #SPARKSFLEA Market in Kansas in the rain and had to park 3 miles away in a muddy cornfield and that was the day you bargained over a wrought iron bistro set for $60 and got it for $40 and then had to carry those heavy chairs and table and pull the 2 CONCRETE table top slabs in a grocery cart through the mud, the blood and the tears? And you had taken the 6 year who shaves with you?  It got ugly. And worse when I put that $1 tall lamp behind it, with that stunning lampshade……

That 5 ft wide metal decor piece runs around $39.95 at #pier1. I found it at a garage sale for $8 and spray painted it black.

The lamp is incredibly heavy with the gray cast iron bottom and gray and white lampshade to go well with the gray walls…….for $1 at a garage sale!

And then there’s the cast iron bench…HEAVY cast iron, found at an antique mall on the Belt. Talked them down from $125 to $95. That’s the thing about antique malls…you CAN make an offer and they will dial up the dealer. If they say no, that can’t hurt you….Went to #hobbylobby, bought a small piece of upholstery material, pulled up my 40% off app on the cell phone, and Russ  reupholstered it. Now it’s in the bedroom with the gray walls and that lamp and that black thing above the bed. JUNK, it’s all #junk!

My daughter Billie Girl (2 too) thinks I came to visit her, but Chewy knows grandma came to see her!
