#42…Snowbirds Road Trip Home

It’s been a wonderful time in #ApacheJunction Az with John & Candi sharing their lives and home with us. While Russ #golfed, I shopped the #yardsales on Fridays and Saturdays, #antique malls on other days and bought soooo much stuff, that one time Russ looked me in the eye and said…”nothing bigger then a postage stamp!” It must be because I bought some #highschoollockers, 3 huge #cheeseboxes…did I mention a roll of #carpet, #Christmas gifts and numerous items for my antique mall booths….oh and my eBay store. We had come down in our truck with a 5 ft bed and he had bought a receiver hitchcargo hauler for my “#treasures”. So space was at a premium.

On our way home through #Payson we saw these lovely sculptures. The elk statue reminded me of Kansas City some 20 years ago when we had a similar parade of #cow #statues…everywhere!

Driving through the mountains was unbelievable. Here we are topping the “rim” on the way to Holbrook and we have #snow ! ! !

Oh did we luck out in #Albuquerque, arriving at 2:55 just 30 minutes before rush hour on Friday. We flew through on I-40 and turned north at exit 256 toward Las Vegas New Mexico avoiding every bit of that terrible traffic. After checking in at the #Comfort#Inn we went to #HillcrestRestaurant for a delightful step back into the 50’s and a great meal. Na Zdrowie with a glass of merlot for my weary self. Can you believe that phone booth? My grandkids would have no idea what that was for…..
