Go back to my March 28 blog and you’ll see the room as it was…green walls…yellow bedspread. But it was all about finding those $153 high school lockers that made my pitter patter race! On the wall by them is the $1 silly with the color scheme for the room. Russ did a wonderful job grouping the family pictures. He calls it “The Heritage Room”. The wood “dry sink” is over 100 years old and belonged to a great grandma. The mirror above I found at a yard sale, 125 years old for $8, VERY tremendously heavy. I painted and antiqued over it.
But just because I put together the various treasures, does not mean this is the finished design! It is just a start, as now, I need to have the proper balance and still more “right pieces. The cheese boxes are my passion. Maybe I’ll stack another pile next to them in which case I’ll need to find a huge tray across both stacks for a tabletop. Then I have a beautiful white shabby chic Victorian lamp with fringe, very tall….so don’t know how that will look…….
Throwing in that rug threw in the red element and maybe that isn’t right….The pillows were what I had on hand….I like the orange in the $1 silly and I have bought spray paint for a wicker piece but now not sure it will even fit in the room. Trying to keep the walls uncluttered as I have moved into minimalism…..Maybe a sheer betwixt the curtain panels. Serious thinking to be done…more magazine pages to be torn out. A work in progress.
OK, so give me another 30 days, maybe 60 and I will do a Part 3…The Balance!
