You all know how I love to have fun with everything, but it’s been such a struggle this morning to laugh in my heart with all the flooding going on around us. Joetown is ok last I heard last night, but they are sandbagging on the south end and expecting the worst . Though there is not flooding on our streets, we do have many roads closed off over bridges and surrounding towns are devastated with flooding. 90% of Nebraska has been affected as reported by news, I-29 has been shut down and there are towns you cannot get to or out of. Five of our friends have lost 6 homes!
And a hard winter it was….. But we got a tremendous amount of projects done and just about to cross off EVERYTHING on the list! Cabin fever is real! The sidekick hub climbed the walls at times. You know you got troubles when the work bench is vacuumed and the nuts and bolts dusted off……I had to send him to the post office…… in an ice storm…… just to give him something to do!
So here comes the long awaited spring….the crocus are popping up (thanks Elaine Chirieleison for your pictures to remind us to look for ours) but with the excitement have come the floods and, of course, it’s tornado season time.
While others are struggling with their losses, I have to thank GOD for my blessings! Mine is a wonderful family….I’m claiming….while not accepting the evidence….but believing by faith…..God is good. This we know. It’s not a perfect family but it’s what God gave ME. And I certainly am far from perfect and THEY have ME to deal with….and my raised eyebrow!
A husband who loves me, a goodly amount of beloved children, Connie, Ken, Rodney, Doug, cousins Candi & John, (pets are also very important family members), my Billie Girl, a huge amount of grandchildren and great grandchildren……so many wonderful friends……I am overwhelmed how much God has blessed us! Thank you Jesus.
It’s amazing how glad my heart has gotten just with this thangsgiving! Now my spirits are lifted and I can again think…….OMG! about 4 more weeks and the garage sales start! The new re-do will be the basement, so “before” pictures will be coming soon. LET THE PAINTING BEGIN!
PS…..I made my Christmas list yesterday and wrapped 2 presents……just sayin’…..
