It’s a road trip to my mailbox. Walking down would take a while. Walking back, uphill could be dangerous in the heat if the vultures saw me take a break. So we leave in the morning for breakfast, a doctor’s appointment and grocery shopping. The girls were all facing us. Of course they are so used to vehicles up and down the driveway, they didn’t bat an eyelash. THREE hours later we come home and now all their rears are facing us as they are enjoying the view of their FLOODED IN MISSOURI, pond. It has been dry for 2 years. Unbelievable that they were all standing there! We ate our lunch and left….same sight, and went to Union Star to visit Georgia….for 2 hours. The welcoming committee was still there when we returned. My gosh them girls was having a good time! I piddled around with my flowers and dog for a while and couldn’t stand it, so I drove down and took these pics! They ended up putting in an 8 hour day, girls just out having fun!
I’m in that time of my life where I find such contentment with “the girls.” 2 Too is flying in this week from Pensacola and #1 daughter Connie is coming up for a couple of days and the joy of anticipating them is overwhelming. Russ cleaned the wood pile for our talks around the fire pit. He’ll make sure the hot tub is properly balanced and we will have to grocery shop again before they come! The wine will flow, the laughter will be hysterical and Russ will try to hide. But rest assured he will be wearing his “Pop” shirt and baseball cap 2 Too got him!
2019 seems to be the year of “The Woman” in our family. Exciting times lie ahead. Granddaughter Lauren found the man of her dreams, her, working behind the counter at the airport, him, stranded there during a blizzard and couldn’t get back home. Saturday they, with her 3 daughters, will leave us behind for a new life in New Jersey. A Hallmark movie in the making…..
Our nephew-in-law Cory, while at the airport in the Phillippines met his “Hallmark movie” love and KC just arrived to prepare for their wedding. Love is definitely in the air….
