He gave us eyes to see, a mind to inquire, ears to hear. Can you believe the colors He created for us, the strange crazy looking creatures for our pleasure? The color palette is around us. If we will just sit, be quiet and really look, it’s all there for us, every shade, texture, all to give us pleasure.
So yesterday I was weeding one of the garden plots and I was thinking, why on earth did God create weeds, for Pete’s sake He could have just made the nice stuff. —-It’s so we have something to do! ! ! ! —-Do you realize how much time I spend buying weed killer, googling for home made organic weed killer recipes, buying tools to better get at them without destroying my back…..trying to figure when I should weed, day by day, then having to work around the rain, then putting on the rain coat because the weeds slide out better when the ground is soaked and on and on, not to mention getting easier access to trimming and deadheading…EXHAUSTING!
Yet all that work is so satisfying to me because the end result fills me with pride and completion. The nurturing is necessary for that outcome… And that’s how God teaches us in the Bible, talking about seed falling on weeds, to look to the ways of a horse with her foal. He talks to us in pictures and oh how He paints the scene. So I find Him in every moment of my life, whether I’m crying out to Him with troubles, or praying for that up close parking spot, the best low priced bargains in a flea market, to forgive my sins or for grace in dealing with my kids.
One of my giftings is seeking answers…why this…why not….how? I look around and see all this color and think, how can I use this palette inside the house..on my patio? I only need to look at something as precious as a dog or cat or horse, whatever, to see that God really went wacko designing our world! The SPLASH is what I’m always looking for…it’s that orange in the midst of a sea of green….the pink donut on the pig picture of my hub side kick’s self portrait….I look at my granddog and see that my walls are a burlap color, my accents, black. She’s tri-colored so I have a splash of white on the table! She would look her best, for sure, laying in front of my fireplace in that room. (she loves her grandma best)
The problem is, that next weekend when I venture out for the first time this year to go GARAGESALING ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I will buy some #$1silly and have to change everything in that room. Help me God! I need favor with Russ!
