#159…as The Tears fall, the Heart Remembers

A new flower plot! ! !  Russ built it for Smokers where he died. My good friend Connie Bridgewater, gave me the flashy twirling flower and I decored with some of his favorite toys.

My plan is no earth showing…..so here we go. A portion of cattle panel and the gate were left up, so in the spring I will plant several vining rose bushes with white flowers and of course, red flowers. Such colors are always so appropriate realizing he knew Polish, my 1st dog to cuss and………a mathematician. You’d have to be reading all my blogs to understand this.

It is amazing to me how much stuff he owned. And how much real estate he took up. He had 4 rubber feed bowls, a huge rubbermaid container holding his dry food, a cooler holding his cans of food, an antique pot holding his daily sorted out ziplock bags of treats….huge box of Milkbones, 2 bags of Beggin’ Treats……Then there 4  pails for water, 2 winter heated water buckets, 2 winter coats, 2 dog houses,  a 10X10 kennel in the barn, assorted leashes and collars. Then there were his battery operated nail clippers…… hand clippers, did I mention heartworm prescription, dog aspirin, flea capsules, a bucket full of toys. a bench in his fenced in yard……Now he has a flower plot.

My goodness! ! In doing my fall cleaning, I have discovered Smokers was also into antiques…At least a 100 yr. old huge pot and lid that held his precious treats, an old yellow egg basket…brushes, combs and coat curries. He should have left a will……

What personalties our dogs have. How they steal their way into our hearts. He was the best. But all the dogs I had were the best. They were there during the hardest times of my life. They licked the tears off my face.  Dogs are a special gift from God to us. Thank you Jesus for the joy of dogs I have enjoyed, most of my life. Don’t forget to toss his ball SEVERAL times a day!
