The best way to confront a “happy” husband in my house is to tell him in the morning, “we are having spaghetti tonight.” If I really need to set the stage….I will have a can of tomato sauce and an unopened bag of angel hair spaghetti and an onion sitting on the counter next to the stove IN THE MORNING and NEVER say a word. You have to be smarter then who you’re dealing with, I tell my girls.
Now it’s best to confront, excuse me……explain things, BEFORE the spaghetti is done as he knows he can’t wait to eat, especially since I just added ” of course we will have garlic bread.”
I was a little nervous when I told him I had made an executive decision that I wanted to get a spinet piano, only because I would have to ask him to load it in the trailer and get Mike to help him unload and of course carry it up a couple of steps, otherwise it would have just appeared….%#(&$<#! I thought his eyeballs were going to pop out of his head! ! !
“Why on earth would I want a piano? To play of course. What? Well I did have 2 years of lessons in grade school, I just have never had a piano and I want to be sure that I do not die without singing my song…………….and where would I put it?” He can ask some of the strangest questions! “In the dining room of course, under the huge hanging airplane, away from the high school lockers.” Geez Louise. He should know by now I try to figure out all the details.
I believe that somewhere there is a perfect piano for me that has sat for years, untouched….. by faith I ordered several sheets of music, and yesterday after my dental appointment, I needed some retail therapy and found this sign at The Rusty Chandelier to place on my piano*, my 2nd most favorite place to shop, Lowe’s Garden Center being my 1st.
*Be assured that the blue paint on the sign color co-ordinates with my rug and decor. Now if that’s not a sign from Heaven…………
So I will soon be posting a picture of what God blesses me with. Pecan or oak will match the decor….and I will sing unto the Lord…..
