#203…That led to This…This to That…and Then…

It is very simple to explain. It is ALL Shirley and Sue’s fault!

What to do in July, when day after day is over 100 degrees heat index? All gardening has to be done betwixt 5:30 and 7:00 AM, followed by a shower.

The Christmas music is playing, IT IS Christmas in July, people. There’s only one thing to do…FALL CLEANING….and another year of dealing with my frustrations with the oversized dining room which always seem sooooo dark.  But I’m starting in the bedroom, curtains down and in the washer…hung back up wet…walls washed down…All bedding washed, hung out all over the patio furniture to be dried in fresh air. AND I SIT IN THE DINING ROOM THINKING. Back to the bedroom, I dug out the paint to touch up spots on the wall. Why don’t I move the medium credenza into our bedroom and move out the small dresser? DONE! Dresser posted in Marketplace.

What I really need in that spot in the DR now, is a tall hutch with glass doors. Shirley and Sue gave me a set of Pioneer Woman dishes and teapot and bowl, stoneware, which is some of the heaviest in the world. I have the longest 8 ft. credenza and I always have to bend over to get everything out to set a table when “Company’s Coming” and that is a deep piece of furniture…just sayin’.

…and then, why don’t I sell this other smaller credenza which is another dark wood..so to marketplace I go to post again and of course I have to look over the posts for “hutches” for sale. Hub sidekick comes home from golfing, no clue that half the dining room is emptied and off to Atchison Kansas we go. Thank you Gillian for that wonderful “treasure”.

It was white. I dry painted the inside light brown, which is my ceiling color, the sides a light beige as my walls..glazed the metal hardware ceiling brown, Russ bought the metal knobs, and then I rubbed everything down with steel wool.

For the 1st time in 9 years, I am satisfied with that room…well I want to find a small chair…I need to finish the bedroom. Why can’t I be like normal people and do ONE thing at a time? Oh, God made me this way.  Did I mention that I have to paint that fireplace?
