I have to live to be 135 to get all my projects done! How did I ever get anything done when I worked, I who never worked full time, rather ALWAYS overtime! It had to be my tremendous youthful energy…Now, remove the “youth” out of the statement and add “push” to do more and more. But it’s harder to get things done, as the more I do, the more ideas pop up! We had our Bible study the other day at a home I had not been to….a BEAUTIFUL perfect MINIMALISTIC design and my head spun! No, I cannot give up my treasures and trinkets, but the monochromatic color has set me on fire. There are buckets and buckets of paint calling me by name at Lowe’s………..
Has anyone seen Russ?
I made out his list yesterday and I think he went into hiding. I did hear he put up some guttering at his mom’s and put up a WW2 Corsair plane on his windmill that Steve Goben made in honor of his father W.R. Mooney, being shot down in the Pacific.,,,,and there are flower pots out of storage on the patio….and bah humbug grumblies at the dinner table.
So I have decided to take a sabbatical for a year. Looking up several definitions…paid leave from work by university professor…OR OTHERS…….studying while traveling for 3 months,1 year or 2, running away from work…paid…while refreshing the mind, every 7th year by Bible, etc, etc……So I’m president of one club, president of vice of another, hosted 12 Christmas parties last December and the list goes on into exhaustion…all the while doing endless projects squeezed into marriagemotheringtravelinggaragesalesremodelingcardgamespaintingbloggingwalking2milesadayantiquestoreboothrepurposingandshopping!
So my sabbatical is doing what I want to do selfishly at full throttle to get my life in order so I can sit down and read A book! Cousin Aga in Poland challenged me 3 years ago to read 100 books in a year and I loved it! Did read 96. Perhaps if I don’t fix Christmas dinners all month, just perhaps others will AND invite……..maybe if we don’t host so much, others will……..Yes, I love doing all these things, but I seriously need to get caught up …in my mind.
That beautiful hummingbird feeder I found on Pinterest, sis in law gave us the wrought iron chandelier, I painted it red and Russ mounted on a mailbox post. Waiting for the birds….for GARAGE SALES to start in about 3 weeks…….meanwhile looking for treasures at Rusty Chandelier……
I wish I still had my 56 Oldsmobile from when I was 17……
