#86…Look What the Cat Drug in

The best description of being a Supervisory Election Judge is called a “30 hour day”. Now I love getting up at 4 AM as I did this morning, but when we HAVE TO set the alarm to intentionally get up at that time it’s a horse of another color……that’s not a cat……but I’m getting to it, OK, around to it. Does anyone have a round tuit?

Yesterday’s local election brought out the best….Thank you Patricia and Jon Smith (Beeler Precinct) for bringing us your hot out of the oven, Amish Friendship loaves. That was absolutely the highlight of our day! Your family and friends are so blessed to experience your joy and love. What a fun couple.

On the other hand, we experienced the slamming down of a ballot by a well seasoned wrath. Ooh! She must be a lot of fun to her family and lack of friends……and then, an _______ slithered in….there are not enough words to describe the nature of some people, but I assure you by the time this person is my age, there will be a path of destroyed lives left behind. Such a difference betwixt the Smith’s and THE TWO. Givers and takers.

Joan, Janice, Jana, Joette, You are the best to work together with! We could not have done it without each other! A seasoned team we be. Methinks we will bring our own name tags next time…Jack and Jane, just sayin”!

It is a joy working with Sarah Miller, Andrew County Clerk. That lady is soooooooooooo organized and has the best staff. We were fatigued by the time we made it to the Savannah Court House last night. Russ was to carry what seemed like 2000 lbs of ballots up the steps.  We were met by 2 handsome STRONG AWESOME young men who grabbed everything and helped him! Thank you, Sarah.

The cat drug us into Appleby’s on Frederick afterwards. We had heard on Fox News about the all month long April $1 Strawberry Dollarita Twizzler. Supper and the margarita was so good, but the waiter was outstanding. So caring, sooooo professional, not bothering us every other minute like a lot of restaurants do. We have one place we refuse to go back to, though their breakfast is to die for, but they won’t leave us alone…. with an organized slew of people bothering us every two mins. “OK guys, so and so will be helping you next…” So I am telling Russ how wonderful this TALL young man is and I thought, I should tell him, maybe he’s not had the best day. The man beamed all over and told us his “Auntie” had raised him well, so yes, he does have his own sad story. I let him know he was a joy. His family should be proud of him!

Alright, today is a new day. Maybe I can get some work out of Russ. Maybe not, but I will count my blessings! After all, 2 more weeks and we’ll be awaiting our beloved hummingbirds and the garage sales begin! ! ! ! ! !
