#88…Let the SHOPPING Begin!

Alright, the garage sales start any day now, but I couldn’t stand it another moment. #1 daughter Connie came up to spend the day Monday and we hit almost every antique mall in Joetown. There was one left, but the stores were already closing and the car was packed..we had to unload and repack twice….”we” is Connie. So today, Daughter in lawlessness, Melinda, and I will hit the streets this morning….. all the stores again. That makes 2X for me in 6 days. I may have to become a Walmart greeter  to get more $$$.

I have decided in my mind to repaint every room in my house white, AND ceilings. It should take me the better part of this year, God willing and the creek don’t rise. Not to worry about the creek, the Missouri River is STILL in flood stage, I-29 shut down 3 weeks already and talk is 2 more months……. and now they are saying flooding all summer.

The beauty of the garage sales, thrift stores and antique malls is the small cost of accessorizing and changing the look without breaking the budget! Along the way I have learned to make offers, even when buying new at a retail center. You just gotta ask management, the one who has the authority to make that quality decision, and if they won’t, there is always the question of FREE shipping. The best bargains can be made at the end of the day knowing the person doesn’t want to pack up all that junk back into the garage….always, always, always ask to pay less for that treasure! My most fabulous room re-dos have started with a beautiful item I have bought for $1 and that has whooped up my complete color palette….the whole room around that #$1 Silly! ! !

So I start downstairs in the finished basement……… Next blog will be the “before” pictures and then I will get started on the transformation.

I must count my blessings…Connie, Billie, Melinda……….Jamie…..
