#92…All Things YELLOW!

I am not without my problems. YELLOW is my downfall, I must have all things yellow! Stand in place…total meltdown…My pitter patter races, I have to have it. Period.

It all started in my 20’s when we bought, at such a cheap bargain price, THE most beautiful in the world, hot yellow classic Ford convertible. Ah, being young and stupid and lacking total mechanical knowledge, it threw a rod within a week. It was devastating to me and even right this minute, I MISS IT!

Fast forward 15 years and we got the MOST beautiful in the whole world yellow older station wagon with wood sides, maybe a “Woodie” I can’t even remember what they called that. It was perfect….it was mechanically like new and to me it was stunning. The kid’s dad was driving home from work when a person backed out the driveway and took it out. We only had it a week and I had not driven it yet. I eventually forgave him. The white hairs were beginning to show.

So today yellow is my absolute dream color. ALWAYS attracted to that color and it has to be the right color. So #1 daughter Connie and #3 daughter Melinda (the devious one) and I go to Rusty Chandelier and Jesse James Antique Mall to the weekend outdoor parking lot flea market they were having and lo and behold…there is this 2 decker bus full of vintage clothing and jewelry. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! It was beautiful ! ! ! ! How perfect is that? What a wonderful warehouse/storageshed/pottingshed/office that would be for me! The only things that held me back from making an offer was the incredible amount of cash that would be required IF it would even EVER be for sale and that I wouldn’t want to die young. Not quite sure how much more Russ would put up with my “deals”………just sayin’……….

So I have been putting off telling the rest of the story…I have to work at getting over the bitterness, it is a lifetime project…….My dreams came true. I bought my Lemon Drop….a YELLOW PT Cruiser. I loved that car! ! ! ! Took it to Canada, took it everywhere. I met Russ and we started towing it on a dollie all over the country behind his RV. One day it had rained and the grass was wet when he had to load the car. In driving up the ramps it slid sideways and took out the bumper. Amidst my tears it went to the body shop and it became new again until I drove it a week later (oops…this accident happened BEFORE I started dating Russ!) and a big TALL 4X4 pickup truck drove up my rear end at a stop sign. He didn’t see me, I was a small thing……..back to the body shop and again became beautiful. So we are getting married and husband to be sez it’s ridiculous for us together to have 5 vehicles, so why don’t we sell MY truck and Lemon Drop and a ton truck he has and buy a new car that is TOWABLE on a dinghy behind the RV?

I am too choked up to say much more other then I still love him…….
