I have temporarily lost my joy. What a difference a day makes. Laughter to screaming!
Factoid per Google…..When flooding occurs, wildlife gets misplaced. Thus Asian Carp in Big Lake MO and EVERYWHERE ruining our lakes, boating, swimming and property values. They have NO predator. Then there’s the snakes. Russ puts up these beautiful rain barrels for me to water my flower plots. I had left a bucket standing under the spigot ready….for days. Expecting another storm I went around putting away loose things…battoning down the hatches and I picked up the bucket. Yep, there coiled underneath was about a 16″ baby snake, hissing and striking but not reaching me! Thank God Russ and 2 Too were in the house and came running. He was quite surprised to see a copperhead! Shovels are good things to own.
But life has changed as I knew it. Missourians get lots of copperhead snake bites each year. I am absolutely unnerved now. So I wear my boots to go outside. I have been putting off weeding my garden plots and it breaks my heart to lag behind. I do a little everyday but not like I should. Though tequila causes my clothes to fall off…wearing boots causes me to fall on the rocks I have to climb to get to the weeds. What was such a joy is nerve wracking…BUT I was here first and I just have to weed during cooler moments wearing my rubber dishwashing gloves and winter boots!
