What a forever special moment in my life to be invited to a HIGH TEA at the Shakespeare Chateau Bed & Breakfast Historic Registry on Millionaire’s Row in St. Joseph MO by a NEW friend, Karen. Thank you for sharing your 60th birthday with me and including me in with your family and friends. I felt right at home with the lot of them…”I’m the favorite…..she’s the bad one”. Police: “Could you come and drive her car, she’s drunk, never mind, we are going to “hold her a while”. Those stories made me feel right at home…..even giving a new meaning to the word “t-bird”.
The “secrets” spilled, the mimosa’s flowed. T’was a good time indeed! There is NOTHING like girlfriends! ! ! We talk a whole new language men are not aware of. But I don’t understand….this was for ladies only, and yet we talked mainly about Karen’s husband, Jim. My gosh you have a lot to hide and coverup….just sayin…….
I learned to be sure I wear a life vest to watch the movie “Titanic”, to cross dress when going to a dance……to dust only my half of the house! I thought I had lived a full life…….how have I missed out on the real joys of insanity?
And the friends? They have been around this chaos forever and are not surprised by these strange events. Their calluses have been indoctrinated. What can I say? I feel like I fit right in! They were the most precious bunch of girls, I absolutely loved them…everyone so kind and considerate, oh, except sister, the massage therapist…she would wait till I was putting food in my mouth when she would rip off a one-liner and I would spit across the table! Her hysteria was out of control and LOUD. I’m tellin’ you Karen, you were wise NOT to stage this performance at a restaurant. We would have ALL been in the tank awaiting bail….
I just love my new friend! What a joy she is. How her family and friends love her is a wonder to watch. How the daughter and step-daughter turned out so well balanced is one of those “Hallmark Miracles!” The two 8 yr. old granddaughters….I am encouraged that most churches have prayer chains but I don’t know if praying for young n’s to grow up normal is trending.
