Ed is so much like Russ. They both work overtime to set things up…… “Why don’t you bring some stuff over to our garage sale and then we will have pizza?” I had no reason to suspicion anything other then that, so sure, I gathered up half a truckload, tagged it and off we went!
Right…it was a ploy to get us over to their house and play the Fast Track game they had taught us at a campout! We had our 1st Monday night off from a year round Bible class we go to and I so really wanted that Monday night at home! Ok, the game is a blast, but Slick Ed pulled it off….and I think Russ prompted him as he and Ed had breakfast that morning at the Liar’s Club at Hardees. Jodean acted innocent thinking that Ed had called simply to invite us to play the game. It is amazing how much fun the four of us have, hours upon hours with this new delight! Even the other day we were expecting company that evening and some how I had the house clean and ready early, when Ed and Jodean wanted to drop by some paperwork…and they were going to bring the board…..”OK! Only 3 games…….”
So now of course, we want “The Board”. OMG! Amazon and eBay both have them for $85, includes shipping. THE HUNT is on. Nothing at garage sales, thrift stores….antique malls, EXCEPT I found this huge Aggravation game board for $20 at Hunterland and the dealer agreed to $15. Russ sez it won’t work cuz it’s for four people, but we have yet to play 6……it has marble holes, the other board is for golf tees….
As you know I have been working towards kicking off my 1 September, 2 year Sabbatical so I’ve got extra time now for projects…It took four days to measure and pencil draw the necessary combinations……and paint. Now Russ needs to drill golf tee size holes in the midst of the marble holes…..”and don’t slant them”. Then I will stick 4 sets of 4 golf tees standing up in styrofoam and spray paint them. A coat of clear polyurethane will finish it. Four new decks of cards for $16 and we will have our Fast Track board for a total of $31.
As soon as we’re done, I’m going to call Jodean and Ed and invite them to come watch our grass grow and we’ll have pizza……
