#116…HOSTAS have left the Building

I recovered from my exasperation with having planted stuff in the wrong places, picked up my shovel and transformed the 1st flower plot. The HOSTAS are now on the front of the house (that will be another blog when I’m done with that plot) though I must tell you with considerable pride that already new leaves have come on ! ! ! !  They took! Have been so worried because a freeze could be around the corner, but NEVER forget, THIS IS MISSOURI, and even though it will be 91 degrees the afternoon, it could be 25 this evening. We are historically famous for a 70 degree drop in 4 hours! ! !

So now I went to Lowe’s and found 18 mums on clearance for $2 @ with 50% off so $18 later, not to mention 5% off using my Lowe’s  card…..let the planting begin! That spot is ideal for these sun loving flowers, including the magic purple aster, silver artemisia and creeping pilea.  I did leave a clump of hostas peaking out behind the blue oat grass ball. Next month I will cover this plot with a full 20lb. bag of potting soil for the winter.

God called one of our friends home the other day…..TODAY, the sun is shining again. I must count my blessings. Life is good.
