#230…Black/Gray & Coral…Weaving a Common Thread

Feb 23 and it’s going to be 70 degrees. Of course I have spring fever! The miracle is that hub-side kick does also. We ordered up BLACK windows and BLACK doors! ! ! 3X3 sheets of gray flooring. OMG! I am painting up everything I can find in flat black. So I have a black wall in one bedroom with coral “popS” and gray walls in another bedroom with coral “popS”…so you see the plan is to tie the whole house together with a common thread…coral.

I have been so frustrated with the living room because it never seems to please me for long, because I am missing something…it’s kinda like that “hole” in your heart that can only be satisfied with asking Jesus to come into it.

But the dining room, I have loved it for years, have changed my colors, yet always stayed with a rotation of the same colors…what is it? What is different? It’s the rug! I always change out my knick knacks according to the rug! ! !  The same colors! Sometimes with blue, olive green…beige, BUT ALWAYS to match that rug.

The rug in the living room is all wrong. The search is on. Something with gray…a sliver of black, a splash of CORAL, orange, red, make that only a smidgeon of red, definitely olive green and royal blue, maybe a touch of butter yellow. Then each season, as my mother taught me, I can change out those decor colors. Why is it, that it takes me forever to figure things out? That’s what happens and suddenly I have snuck up on getting old…so then I change how I think..or is it because I look at all these magazines and get fresh NEW ideas?

Oh dear, maybe I shouldn’t have ordered “Traditional Home” yesterday…with those magic words..MAKEOVERS!

It’s hard to be me. I’m always in trouble, but there’s lots of laughter in our “home sweet home”. Only thing is, Russ never stops from reminding me when I painted the dining room purple.
