#110…My Happy Place

The Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp ends today at Missouri Western in Saint Joseph, MO. School buses start rolling tomorrow. That is the happiest day of the year for me, the 1st day of “my” new year.

#1daughterconnie began her senior year when my youngest of four children, Doug, started kindergarten. Thirty years of laundry, vacuuming and serving home made meals 24/7. I loved being a mom. I loved summer, Easter and Christmas vacations when all my children were home and we could play cards, bake cookies, garage sale and mow the grass. “Me” time was early of a morning before anyone awoke. And when September arrived, I was able to do my work so much faster without anyone talking to me and THEN I could do my “projects”! Always projects, even as a child. Well ok, so these projects might have been ironing, maybe sewing and mending, putting photo albums together, bathing the dog, paperwork, filing receipts but always something with NO interruption!

So “my” new year starts again and especially very “special” this year as I start my new 2 year Sabbatical. Oh the plans, the projects! It is a project just to put the plans on paper. That one list is JUST the garage. I have the outside, all the rooms in my house, various paperwork things, my DAR application, getting life in order things…etc. etc. etc. and I’d like to wash my car.

As I have been copying all my blog posts to archive, I have been discovering better ways of doing this. I went through my 4th color printer’s ink in 3 hours yesterday on just 11 posts! OMG! Those were the days I could not figure out how to downsize the pictures. ONE post took 11 pages because each picture turned out to be an 8X10.  So at least now I realize what NOT to do and know a little more about spacing and have decided to limit the number of pictures to one line……A one page printed post will be ideal.

I will sneak off to Best Buy for TWO color ink cartridges when Russ isn’t looking (not done copying yet) and soothe my broken pocketbook with ……..Hey! Life is hard and then you say, byegonegaragesaling.com!
