#153…Tomatoes, Flowers and Dealing w/ THE Dining Room

So good to be outside. No choice there as there’s sooooooo much to do. The tomatoes are really coming on but will have to google if I’m watering too much as there appears to be some rot on the bottom. It’s always a learning process I tell you…but I seek answers constantly, making  my mistakes and googling “what happened”? The foot long purple green beans will soon be ready to harvest and the National pickling cucumbers are growing lusciously up the wisteria vines.

I started moving my some shade/full sun plants around 3 years ago and I see, this fall, I will have to develop a plan, on paper, to reposition “stuff”.

“No earth seen” is my philosophy, but it has gone to “no small or new plants seen” as the settled in plants are growing huge and taking over. My excellent care is producing monster bushes! Methinks that this fall I’m going to place all my ornamental grasses together. The problem here is it’s hard for me to visualize how wide they grow, instead I’m stuck on height……. I place them close together to cover all the earth so I don’t have to weed. That’s not working for me!

Speaking of problems, I had Russ buy all this mulch this spring that had weed killer in it…NO MORE WEEDS! What a joke! And paid a dollar extra a bag for that propaganda. Did I mention that Missouri has rain? Did I mention that perennials spread out WIDE? It seems a sin to put so much mulch down and then stifle the growth, yet the weeds grow. No more mulch….going back to my “no earth seen philosophy. I’m trying to get my mind right and accept the fact that I will always have to weed.

So I have been garage saling for 2 weeks. Back in my happy place after lifting pandemic restrictions. I had to move my huge, over the credenza picture, I got from Kirklands for half price, and move in the heavy glass picture of the vase I found for $15 that I talked down to $10. So of course the ongoing saga of the dining room continues.  But I am getting closer since the new store front over the fireplace…..and I have new ideas……

Just trying to focus on God’s grace and move forward, letting the world do it’s thing…. in November I will vote……and give my dog lots of kisses.
