I’m tired of having summer, fall, winter, winter, summer coming on…Just when I was hoping freezing temperatures and daily snow would stop, SPRINTER has brought high winds, tornados and flying debris to our state. My friend, Jim Brooke, has nailed it. “The earth has wobbled off it’s axis.” How else can this be explained?
I need to clean out and PLANT my flower plots. This is as upsetting to me as the year I didn’t have time to put away Christmas decorations till the end of April. Life definitely is a handful!
So what is this picture you are looking at? It is the Kentucky Derby done in glass as a standing sculpture. It will be Derby time a week from this Saturday in Louisville Kentucky. THE RUN FOR THE ROSES! I have to tell the story. We went out on our 1st date in 2011 on Derby Day….but we could not leave for dinner until Russ had watched the 2 min race. A year later, 2012 we were at the Kentucky Derby for the whole week, downing ourselves in mint juleps. One year later, 2013, Kentucky Derby Race Day, we had to stop and watch those 2 mins. on the way to our wedding reception. Again this race awaits us… The mint juleps…well maybe some Irish whisky….
